DESIGN ENGINEER · CRAFTING INTERFACES
Hello - I'm Fernando Apóstolo.
A design engineer who lives in the details. I turn ideas into React and TypeScript interfaces that feel quiet, precise, and unmistakably crafted - and I'm the maker behind Luminee.
// about
I build interfaces the way other people build furniture - joints you never see, edges sanded until they disappear. My work lives at the seam between design and engineering, where a layout decision is also a state machine and a transition is also a sentence.
Day to day that means React and TypeScript, design systems that stay honest as they grow, and an obsession with the small stuff: focus order, optical spacing, the weight of a single hairline. I care less about shipping fast than about shipping something that still feels considered a year later.
// focus
- 01
Interface engineering
Component architecture in React and TypeScript - accessible, typed, and built to survive scale.
- 02
Design systems
Tokens, primitives, and the discipline to keep them coherent as a product grows.
- 03
Motion & micro-interaction
Transitions that explain cause and effect, never just decorate. Reduced-motion first.
- 04
Minimalist UI/UX
Removing until only the necessary remains, then making the necessary feel inevitable.
// selected work
Luminee
LIVEA product I design and build end to end - a calm, focused tool with a hand-tuned interface and a design system that stays out of the way.
Component foundations
A typed primitive library - menus, dialogs, and form controls built for accessibility and reuse across products.
Interface field notes
An ongoing study of the details that make software feel considered: spacing, focus, and the physics of motion.
